CarSaver Privacy Policy

CarSaver is an Android vehicle ownership and maintenance tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains how CarSaver handles information when you use the app.

Summary: CarSaver is designed to be offline-first. Your vehicle records, fuel entries, maintenance records, costs, reminders, parking information, and optional receipt or parking photos are stored locally on your device unless this policy states otherwise.

Information you enter

CarSaver may store information that you choose to enter, including vehicle details, odometer readings, fuel fill-ups, maintenance and repair records, MOT information, vehicle tax information, insurance information, costs, reminders, notes, and related dates.

This information is stored locally on your device so that the app can provide its core vehicle-tracking, reminder, dashboard, and cost-analysis features.

Location information

CarSaver may request approximate or precise location permission only when you choose to use the Parking Spot feature. Location is used to save or update the location of your parked vehicle and to help you navigate back to it.

Parking location information is stored locally on your device. CarSaver does not use your location for advertising, behavioural tracking, sale, or sharing with third parties. You can deny or revoke Location permission at any time in your Android device settings.

Camera, photos, and files

CarSaver may request access to your camera or device photos only when you choose to take or attach an image, such as a fuel receipt or an optional parking-spot photo.

Images you choose to add are stored locally on your device for the related CarSaver record. CarSaver does not upload these images to a developer-operated server.

Google Play Billing

CarSaver may offer optional paid Pro features through Google Play Billing. Payments are processed by Google Play, not directly by CarSaver or its developer.

When you use an optional purchase or subscription, the app may communicate with Google Play to retrieve product information, verify a purchase, restore purchases, and determine whether Pro features are available. CarSaver does not store your payment-card number or bank-account details.

Internet access

CarSaver is designed to work offline for its core vehicle-record and tracking features. Internet access may be used only when necessary for optional Google Play purchase, subscription, entitlement, or restoration verification.

Data sharing and sale

CarSaver does not sell your personal information. CarSaver does not share your vehicle records, parking location, receipts, photos, maintenance records, or cost records with third parties for advertising or tracking purposes.

Data retention and deletion

Your locally stored CarSaver information remains on your device until you delete it in the app, uninstall the app, clear the app's storage through Android settings, or use an available in-app data-deletion feature.

CarSaver does not require a user account for its core local vehicle-record features. Because the developer does not operate an account-based cloud copy of these local records, deleting local app data removes the information from the device.

Children

CarSaver is not directed at children. The app is intended for vehicle owners and drivers.

Security

CarSaver is designed to minimise data collection by storing core vehicle information locally on your device. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if CarSaver's features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
